Methodology, interpretation and legal notices
Data status: August 11, 2026. The Intelligence Landscape combines observed third-party data with Canadian AI analytical model outputs. Observed statistics are identified separately from modelled estimates, readiness indices and scenarios.
Observed data
The national 19.2% business AI-use figure and selected national sector values are adapted from Statistics Canada’s Canadian Survey on Business Conditions, Second Quarter 2026. Nova Scotia’s identified provincial AI-use figure is presented as observed where the source is identified. Other provincial and territorial AI-use values are modelled estimates unless expressly labelled otherwise.
Modelled outputs
Province and territory estimates, governance readiness, quantum readiness, composite values and unobserved sector scenarios are Canadian AI analytical outputs. They are designed for comparative research and should not be interpreted as official government statistics, audited ratings, certifications or regulatory determinations.

Rank is calculated from the active metric selected in the interface. When Composite is selected, the interface displays Composite rank. When AI Adoption, Governance Readiness or Quantum Readiness is selected, the displayed rank reflects that selected metric rather than the composite value.
Model confidence
Confidence classifications reflect source coverage, recency, geographic specificity and consistency of available evidence. They are qualitative model-confidence classifications and are not statistical confidence intervals.
Composite methodology
The composite is a weighted analytical index combining AI-adoption, governance-readiness and quantum-readiness signals. Canadian AI may refine source mappings, assumptions and model architecture over time. Public methodology describes the interpretation boundary of the model without requiring disclosure of proprietary scoring calculations.

Provincial and territorial boundaries are sourced from Government of Manitoba open data.
